WASHINGTON -- Prior to Thursday, the last time the Nationals won a game was on Sept. 23, 2008, against the Marlins. The winning pitcher was right-hander Shairon Martis.
Fast-forward to Thursday night at Nationals Park. Martis had the team's first quality start and helped the Nationals defeat the Phillies, 8-2. It was the Washington's first victory after starting the season with seven losses.
