WASHINGTON -- In the 1989 comedy classic "Major League," fictional Indians manager Lou Brown tells his previously struggling ballclub, "We've won two games in a row. If we win tonight, it's called a winning streak. It has happened before."
The Nationals, seemingly as unfortunate this year as that cinematic club, hadn't had one of those winning streaks since May 7-9.
