WASHINGTON -- It ended up being a long day for the Nationals as the Giants swept a doubleheader at Nationals Park on Thursday.

Giants right-hander Matt Cain proved to be too much for the Nationals, who ended up losing the second game of the doubleheader, 4-1, in a rain-shortened affair.

WASHINGTON -- It turned out to be a dreary day for the Nationals on Saturday, as they lost a rain-shortened nightcap to the Phillies, 7-5, at Nationals Park.

Earlier in the day, left-hander Scott Olsen was hit hard, and the Nationals paid the price as they lost to the Phillies, 8-5, in the first game of a day-night doubleheader.

Nationals-Phillies game rescheduled for May 16

WASHINGTON -- The Nationals announced on Wednesday that their postponed game against the Phillies on April 15 has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 16 at Nationals Park. Game time will be at 1:05 p.m. ET.

Coupled with the regularly scheduled 7:05 p.m. contest for that Saturday, the rescheduled game gives fans access to the first weekend version of a day-night doubleheader at Nationals Park.

The two games against Philadelphia on May 16 require separate admission.
